  • Answering Mixed Yes/No & Wh- Questions

Once a child is able to answer basic yes/no and wh- questions during structured therapy activities, it's time to mix them together! This kit will walk you through helping a child answer a variety of questions about things that are immediately present.

  • Answering Questions about Past Events

When the client has mastered the previous kit on answering mixed questions, you're ready to start on answering questions about past events. This packet will start off slowly by allowing them to practice answering questions about events that have just happened. Then, you'll gradually increase the length of time between the event and the questions.

  • Asking Questions with Proper Syntax

This therapy kit will teach children how to ask questions with correct word order and proper syntax. Your clients will start by practicing specific question forms (such as "do" questions, "can" questions, "who" questions, etc.). Then, you'll set up therapy activities to practice asking each other questions in conversational speech.

Carrie Clark, CCC-SLP

Welcome! I am a speech-language pathologist based out of Missouri, United States of America. I work full time running the Speech and Language Kids website and our professional membership program at www.SLPSolution.com. In addition to that, I also see speech therapy clients in a local school district one day per week.

I've worked in early intervention, preschool, and k12 schools. I've also run my own private practice and worked in continuing education through my websites. I've spent hours digging through the research on what works and doesn't work in therapy. And I've also spent hours streamlining and simplifying my own practice to help me make the most out of my limited time as an SLP.

Now, I'm ready to help you do the same! I've poured everything I know into creating courses that help you learn the most effective and streamlined ways to support your clients And you'll know that everything I'm recommending is a strategy that I have used myself with great success. My courses will break down skills for you into step-by-step plans that you can implement in therapy right away. And I'll help you learn shortcuts and organization hacks that will save you time and energy and help you love what you do again. I can't wait to get started and show you how much better this job can be!

  • What Ages is this Course For?

This course could be used with clients of any age that are struggling to ask and answer questions correctly. We often see this in preschool and elementary school-aged clients but this can be used for older clients as well.

  • Who Should Take this Course?

This course is designed for speech-language pathologists, speech-language therapists, and speech-language pathologist assistants/aides. This course assumes a basic level of understanding of speech-language pathology and so would be most helpful for those with training and experience in this area. However, caregivers and educators may benefit from this information as well.

  • Can I ask questions or get support while taking the course?

Yes! Each page of the course will have a forum where you can ask questions and see other participants' questions. I'll be hopping in regularly to answer questions so check back for my response!

  • How long will I have to complete this course?

You will have access to the course materials for a full 6 months.

  • Can I Get Continuing Education Credit for this Course?

Yes! You can download a certificate of completion for the 1 hour of video content. However, Speech and Language Kids/SLP Solution is not an ASHA-Approved CEU provider so we cannot offer you ASHA CEUs for your participation. You can use the certificate of completion as "Professional Development Hours (PDH)" and they can count toward your 30 hours that ASHA requires. You will need to check with your state licensing organization or your country (if outside USA) to see if they will accept PDH instead of CEUs.
