Eliciting Speech Sounds Webinar

1-Hour Video Presentation (Recording)

This course includes the recording of a one-hour webinar presentation conducted through The SLP Solution membership. This presentation will include therapy strategies for helping a child learn to produce all English speech sounds in isolation. We will discuss general strategies, like using cues and facilitating contexts, as well as specific strategies for each speech sound.

Time-Ordered Agenda:

0-5 Minutes: Introduction
5-15 Minutes: Benefits of working on sounds in isolation, using sensory cues, and using facilitating contexts
15-55 Minutes: Specific speech sound techniques for each sound
55-60 Minutes: Summary and Q&A

Bonus Therapy Materials

Three printable therapy materials for eliciting speech sounds

  • Speech Sound Stimulability Warm Up

Research shows that when a child is stimulable for a speech sound (able to say it in isolation with prompts and cues), they are more likely to resolve that speech error on their own without needing extensive therapy. We can help boost our children's speech sound stimulability by using this stimulability warm up at the beginning of sessions.

  • Informal Speech Sound Screening Kit

This simple, informal screener will allow you to quickly assess all English speech sounds to determine what sounds a child is having trouble with at the word level. Includes picture prompts and a screening form.

  • Making Inferences No-Prep Therapy Kit

Materials for targeting consonant sounds are easy to find but it can be much harder to find good resources on teaching vowels. These worksheets include words that target each of the different English vowel sounds.

Welcome! I am a speech-language pathologist based out of Missouri, United States of America. I work full time running the Speech and Language Kids website and our professional membership program at www.SLPSolution.com. In addition to that, I also see speech therapy clients in a local school district one day per week.

I've worked in early intervention, preschool, and k12 schools. I've also run my own private practice and worked in continuing education through my websites. I've spent hours digging through the research on what works and doesn't work in therapy. And I've also spent hours streamlining and simplifying my own practice to help me make the most out of my limited time as an SLP.

Now, I'm ready to help you do the same! I've poured everything I know into creating courses that help you learn the most effective and streamlined ways to support your clients And you'll know that everything I'm recommending is a strategy that I have used myself with great success. My courses will break down skills for you into step-by-step plans that you can implement in therapy right away. And I'll help you learn shortcuts and organization hacks that will save you time and energy and help you love what you do again. I can't wait to get started and show you how much better this job can be!
