Streamline, Simplify, and Leave Stress Behind

A Step-by-Step Plan for School Speech Pathology that WORKS!

You're only one person, you can't do everything. But as school-based speech-language pathologists, we often feel like we must. There are far too many students who need our help and far too little time to make sure everyone has what they need.

So how do you get it all done without burning yourself out? The key is to find those vital few tasks that you do that make the most impact and to focus on those. Then, we get rid of the many trivial tasks that are taking up your time and energy without moving the needle much.

Take my self-paced course and I'll walk you through how to streamline down to the most essential tasks so you can save time and see faster progress with your clients.

I know you're busy! You're probably in the middle of your school year. I know you don't have time to stop everything and revamp it all. That's why this version of our Reboot is specifically designed to be completed while you're already managing a full workload.

Each lesson will give you one small assignment that will have a huge impact on what you do. With the time you've saved from the first assignment, you'll make another change the second week that will save you even more time. It's like a giant, time-saving snowball that gets bigger as you roll it down the hill. Go through these steps as quickly or as slowly as you need to go. Have questions along the way? Don't worry, I won't leave you high and dry! Each lesson on the web course has a forum where you can type in your questions. I'll get back to you with an answer the next time I hop in. I know making changes can be overwhelming so I'm here to help!

What Others are Saying:

“I've just completed this 2-week course that coaches SLPs to streamline therapy and paperwork so that it remains an enjoyable job and not a constant, flaming, all consuming nightmare. (Last Spring was unhealthy in that regard, for me and for many of my SLP co-workers.) I am optimistic that I can apply the healthy principles this year. I do feel calmer about the year, kind of like I was given permission to use more shortcuts and make therapy simple (and hopefully just as effective).”

“[The most helpful part of the reboot was] the calm, realistic ambiance and Carrie saying out loud, that we can only give what we have. That we can streamline and simplify, but at the end of the day, the best we can do is the best we can do, if our plate is running over. So, having a plan to streamline all aspects of work seems helpful. The two weeks increased my sense of what I already felt and gave a framework for implementing a simpler approach at work. I also did a step by step analysis of several components of my job including the lengthy process to complete an evaluation in our school district. I will be sharing that checklist with fellow SLPs. (Of course, the admin changed parts of the process THE WEEK after I completed the checklist. 😂 Seriously, I can only laugh. Also helpful to have culled materials. I also liked the assignments and the forms presented, along with very thorough explanation of each.”

“I feel confident that the things I learned will help me to provide more effective therapy, and be more efficient in getting the billing and paperwork done.”

The SLP Reboot is Presented By:

Carrie Clark, CCC-SLP

Welcome! I am a speech-language pathologist based out of Missouri, United States of America. I work full time running the Speech and Language Kids website and our professional membership program at www.SLPSolution.com. In addition to that, I also see speech therapy clients in a local school district one day per week.

I've worked in early intervention, preschool, and k12 schools. I've also run my own private practice and worked in continuing education through my websites. I've spent hours digging through the research on what works and doesn't work in therapy. And I've also spent hours streamlining and simplifying my own practice to help me make the most out of my limited time as an SLP.

Now, I'm ready to help you do the same! I've poured everything I know into creating courses that help you learn the most effective and streamlined ways to support your clients And you'll know that everything I'm recommending is a strategy that I have used myself with great success. My courses will break down skills for you into step-by-step plans that you can implement in therapy right away. And I'll help you learn shortcuts and organization hacks that will save you time and energy and help you love what you do again. I can't wait to get started and show you how much better this job can be!

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Is this a live course?

No. We have run this same Reboot as a live course in the past but this version is a stand alone course that you can go through at your own pace. There will be no group coaching calls like in the live version. However, you will be able to ask questions in the forum and I will leave you a response the next time I log in.

  • Do You Accept Purchase Orders?

Yes! Here is a link to a PDF you can show to your administrator to request for them to pay for the program:

  • What Ages is this Program For? Will it be Helpful if I Work with Older/Younger Clients?

The beauty of this program is that it will help you no matter what age your clients are! We are primarily talking about how to do therapy in a more simplified way. This works great with older AND younger clients. But we'll also give you specifics on how to use this approach with different ages and populations.

You may have noticed that your older clients aren't as interested in playing games during therapy. It can be awkward to simply sit there and stare at each other while doing reps, so we'll show you a variety of ways to work on skills with teenagers and older clients through activities that are interesting to them!

We will also talk about how to adapt these principles for the preschool years as well, as many of our school SLPs work in those settings!

  • Do I Have to Work in the Schools to Use this Program?

No! I am focusing this edition of the Reboot on school-based SLPs and it will make the most sense to take this bit by bit as we are also working a full caseload at the same time. However, if you are working in a different setting, you are welcome to join us for the Reboot as well. You just may have to modify some of the recommendations to suit your setting.

  • How Long will I Have to Complete the Course?

You will have access to the course materials for a full 6 months.

  • Can I Ask Questions Throughout the Course?

Yes! Each page of the course will have a forum where you can ask questions and see other participants' questions. I'll be hopping in regularly to answer questions so check back for my response!

  • When Should I Take This Course?

Unlike previous versions of our Reboot, you can take this course at any time. I recommend starting the course when you'll have at least an hour per week to go through the videos and start on your assignment. You can also take it slower and spread each assignment over a few weeks. Or, you can binge watch all of the videos in one weekend and start working through the steps as you have time. The choice is up to you!

  • Can I Get Continuing Education for this Course?

Yes! You can download a certificate of completion for the 3 hrs, 50 min of video content.

However, Speech and Language Kids/SLP Solution is not an ASHA-Approved CEU provider so we cannot offer you ASHA CEUs for your participation. You can use the certificate of completion as "Professional Development Hours (PDH)" and they can count toward your 30 hours that ASHA requires. You will need to check with your state licensing organization or your country (if outside USA) to see if they will accept PDH instead of CEUs.
